Term 2 in 5/6N!

Welcome to Term 2! We have enjoyed our first few weeks and are looking forward to a busy, fun and exciting term ahead.
Here are a few things happening in Term 2:
Public Speaking:
This term, every Tuesday, we have been involved in an 8 week Public Speaking program with Mrs DeGeest. Students have been involved with ‘Off the cuff’ questions where they are asked a question and need to talk for one minute. Some students have organised prepared speeches and have shared these with our class. We are building on our confidence so much already!
Mother’s Day and 5/6N Class Mass:
Last Thursday we had a Mother’s Day afternoon which involved the mums coming into our classroom and we completed different activities together.
Then the following day, Friday, we had our class mass with the theme ‘Mother’s Day’. The Mass went so well and all the students did an incredible job! Well done 5/6N!
Maths:
This term in Maths, we have been learning lots about Fractions. We have learnt about equivalent fractions, mixed fractions, improper fractions and how to convert these!
Literacy:
This term, we are learning about the Australian Government. So far, we have learnt about the key features of Democracy, learnt about different types of governments and about the 3 levels of government. Last week, we were in groups of 4 and we made Triaramas, each side representing a different level of government.
