District Cross Country

Despite the wet, cold and rainy weather, 54 students from SJV proudly represented our school at the recent District Cross Country event. All students showed incredible determination, resilience and team spirit throughout the day.  Each race had approximately 70 competitors but our team were up for the challenge.

We are thrilled to announce that 10 of our students finished in the top 12 of their age group races, qualifying for the Monash Waverley Division event to be held on June 2nd. This is a fantastic achievement and we wish these students the very best for the next stage of competition.

2 students won their events - Mason Ph - 9/10yr boys and Noah W  -11yr boys.  Our other top 12 finishers were: 

9/10 yr Girls - Rasha, Mikaela

11yr Girls - Georgia, Emily

12/13yr Girls - Hayley

9/10yr Boys - Will B, Hayden N, 

12/13yr Boys - Tony  

Many other students also performed exceptionally well, finishing in the top 25 of their races and earning valuable points for our school team. Thanks to the outstanding efforts of all competitors, St John Vianney's finished 2nd overall — our best team result to date!

Congratulations to every student who participated and represented SJV with pride. Thank you to the parents (Sam, Gale and Han who helped our students on the course!) and to those who supported and encouraged our students throughout the day and of course to our amazing staff who were there rain, hail or shine!
