Performing Arts

This term, students have continued building confidence and creativity in Performing Arts through engaging dance and movement activities. Students have been developing their ability to follow movement sequences, respond to rhythm and music and express themselves through creative movement.
Yellow and Purple PLCs
Dance experiences in Yellow and Purple PLCs have been linked to mentor texts. Yellow PLC students explored movements inspired by Pete the Cat, while Purple PLC students used dance and dramatic play to bring Goldilocks and the Three Bears to life.
Blue PLC
Students explored movement using props, music and group activities while practising actions such as turning, clapping, balancing and reaching to create simple dance routines.
On Tuesday June 2nd, students in Blue PLC will participate in a drama incursion delivered by Drama Victoria as part of a Department of Education initiative. Through engaging drama activities, students will build communication, creativity, confidence and teamwork skills while supporting wellbeing and self-expression. Information about this incursion has been shared with families on compass.
Green PLC
Students participating in the Discovering Dance elective have been learning choreographed class dances and practising performing together as a group. We have also begun filming these dances to create class film clips celebrating students’ confidence and learning.
Orange PLC
Students have enjoyed creating their own dance moves and contributing ideas to class dances, encouraging creativity, collaboration and self-expression.
Here are some snapshots of our dance and movement experiences from this term! 💃✨
