Specialists

Making Music.
This term in Specialist Music, students will be building their understanding of beat, rhythm and musical notation through lots of hands-on music making. F–2 students will explore beat and rhythm using percussion instruments, while Years 3/4 will develop their rhythm skills through pool noodle drumming and xylophone. Year 5 students will work with bucket drumming and guitar, and Year 6 will learn the ukulele. Across the year levels, students will practise reading notes and stick notation, while Years 3-6 use their developing music-reading skills to play familiar songs.
Personal, Social, Community & Health
Over the coming weeks, students will continue developing important skills to support their health, wellbeing and relationships.
Foundation: Students will explore healthy eating and nutrition, learning about foods that help keep our bodies healthy and strong.
Grade 1/2: Students will focus on safe spaces and boundaries, developing an understanding of personal space, boundaries and feeling safe.
Grades 3–6: Students will explore the strengths and qualities of a good friend, identifying what positive friendships look like and the qualities that help us build strong, respectful relationships.
We look forward to lots of thoughtful conversations and learning as students build skills they can use at school, at home and in the wider community.
Years 5/6 Drama
Our Years 5/6 students will be stepping into the spotlight as they explore improvisation, character development, performance and responding. Students will have opportunities to think creatively, take on different roles and develop their confidence when performing for others.
They will also explore poetry recital, using voice, expression and performance skills to bring poems to life. We look forward to seeing their creativity and confidence shine!
