Renaissance Accelerated Reader Expands to Year 8 

Following the success of last year’s program, our Accelerated Reading lessons are back, and this year we are excited to expand the program to include both Year 7 and Year 8 students. As part of the program, all students have borrowed a carefully selected ‘Renaissance book’ and will have dedicated reading lessons in the library. Students need to bring their books to school every day because they will be reading their novels during Connect three mornings each week. 

To track progress, students will complete a quiz after finishing each book to test their understanding, helping them build comprehension skills and reading confidence. We also encourage students to read at home to develop strong reading habits. Parents can support their child by asking about their book, discussing favourite stories, and making reading a shared experience. 

We look forward to seeing our Year 7 and Year 8 students grow as readers and enjoy the many worlds that books can open. Students with questions or needing help are always welcome to see their librarian.
