Principal's Address

As Term 1 draws to a close, we reflect on a fast-paced and exciting start to the year. Our term began with the official opening of our school upgrade, including a visit from notable guests including NSW Premier Chris Minns, Minister for Education and Deputy Premier Prue Car, Minister for Finance Courtney Houssos, and Ms Charishma Kaliyanda MP for Liverpool. It was a proud moment for our school leaders to come together and celebrate the improvements to our learning environment.
I attended both the swimming and athletics carnivals this term and was truly encouraged by the high levels of participation and enthusiasm shown by our students. Additionally, I attended the zone carnival as head timekeeper, where I witnessed some fantastic results and outstanding performances from our students.
Another highlight for me has been the opportunity to visit classrooms and see firsthand the fantastic teaching and learning taking place. It is inspiring to see excellence in action—both from our hardworking staff and our engaged students!
Over the last few weeks, I have been speaking with students about safe road use, particularly when riding bikes, e-bikes, and motorbikes. There has been an increasing number of students riding to school, which is pleasing; however, all students must wear helmets at all times. We would appreciate your support with this important conversation and encourage all students to continue wearing helmets when riding outside of school hours and over the holiday period.
As we move forward, I want to remind all members of our school community about the importance of attendance. Regular attendance is crucial for student success, and reporting any absences is compulsory. We also ask that, where possible, appointments be scheduled outside of school hours to minimise disruption to learning. For further information, please visit the NSW Department of Education’s Attendance Matters website.
With colder weather approaching, we would like to remind families about our high uniform standards. Please ensure that winter uniform items are purchased from the school uniform shop. Note that hoodies and coloured long sleeve undershirts are not permitted. We are pleased to announce that the uniform shop now stocks long sleeve blouses for girls. If you have any unused uniform items at home, we kindly ask you to return them to the school to help stock our second-hand uniform shop, supporting other families in our community.
Finally, I wish all students and their families a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday period. Thank you for your continued support this term. We look forward to another successful term ahead!
Regards,
Andrew King
Principal
