Mullum Mullum Road improvements
- Road and pedestrian safety improvements

Council has allocated funding within its 2025/26 Local Area Traffic Management Program for the implementation of road and pedestrian safety improvements within the school zone of Mullum Mullum Road, Ringwood between Byron Street and Panfield Avenue.
The works will enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility, reduce vehicle speeds and clarify parking and traffic lane arrangements.
The works will include:
Formalisation of parking and traffic lanes.
Road narrowing at the Byron Street and Panfield Avenue intersections, and school entrance.
Relocation and upgrade of the existing children’s crossing to a raised children’s crossing closer to the Panfield Avenue intersection.
Installation of two complementary raised pavements evenly spaced along the length of road.
Pavement marked treatments at the Byron Street and Panfield Avenue intersections to highlight pedestrian walkways.
Addition of formal parking lane on the north side of the road along the Norwood Secondary College and Mullum Primary School frontage.
Construction of 10 indented parking spaces on the south side of the road.
Removal of 10 trees, that are at the end of their useful life, on the south side of the road to support the indented parking spaces.
Associated drainage, signage and line marking modifications.
Updates will be provided as the project progresses. Works are subject contractor availability.
Works are anticipated to start in December 2025.
