Exams and VCE Transition

We are very proud of our Year 10 and 11 students (2025) for the way they approached their recent exams. Their effort and commitment were evident throughout the assessment period, and the results reflect the hard work they have put in this year. These exams are not only a measure of academic progress but also an important step in building confidence and preparation for their final years of study.

Following exams, our students commenced the VCE Transition program which plays a vital role in preparing them for the demands of Years 11 and 12. This period is designed to give students a head start, helping them understand expectations, develop study routines, and begin engaging with the content that they will encounter next year.

As we move into the holiday period, I want to remind families of the importance of holiday homework at VCE level. This work is a crucial part of ensuring students begin 2026 both ready and confident. Starting behind can make the year more challenging, so we encourage all students to use the break wisely, balancing rest with preparation.

Year 11 Social

On Friday, 28 November, the Year 11 students gathered in the school hall for their social event. The evening provided an opportunity for students to come together, enjoy some music, and mark the end of the exam period.

Highlights included the lolly bar, and the presentation of student awards. The dance floor was well used, with the DJ playing a mix of current songs and familiar favourites. A photo booth with props was also available, giving students a chance to take home a small memento from the night.

The social was a chance to acknowledge the close of Year 11 and look ahead to VCE transition and Year 12. Thank you to the student leaders, Ms Sweeney and Mrs Coverdale for their organisation of the event, and to the supervising staff for their support of the evening.

Introducing our 2026 Prefect Team

In the last edition of the newsletter, the College Captains introduced themselves to the school community. In this edition, the Prefect Team have provided information about themselves on the Captains’ Corner page.

I encourage you to read their introductions! As they take on leadership responsibilities next year, we look forward to seeing what contributions they will make to the school.

Thank you and Welcome!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Leisa Beggs (Year 12 Coordinator) and Mr Chris Sheehan (Year 12 Head of Year Level) for the important role that they have played over the past three years in Senior School. Their contribution and commitment have been greatly valued, and while they will continue to be part of our school community, they will be commencing new roles in 2026.

In addition, I would also like to acknowledge and thank Ms Maddy Sweeney and Mrs Shanae Coverdale who stepped into Acting Head of Year Level positions this Semester. Their work has been greatly appreciated and it has ensured continuity for both our students and staff.

A warm welcome to the staff members joining Senior School in 2026, Mrs Samantha Fox and Mr Daniel Cole who will take on new responsibilities at Year 12.
