Principals Weekly Update

Dear Armadale Community,

It was wonderful to welcome so many grandparents and special people to APS on Monday. These special visitors always bring such a lovely energy to our school, and our children were certainly treated to a morning full of connection, celebration and pride.

Our children then performed at our whole school assembly, beautifully led by our school leaders, Ginger, Lachie, Rose and Erin. We are so proud of their efforts and the confidence they showed in leading the school community.

Each year level treated us to a special performance, and we suspect it would have been very difficult to pick a favourite!

Following the assembly, our Year 2 parents provided an amazing morning tea, giving our grandparents and special people the opportunity to relax, connect and get to know one another. We love this special event and are excited to continue building this wonderful annual tradition at APS.

APS Fun Run Update

A huge thank you to our APS community for your incredible support of the Fun Run! We have reached our whole-school fundraising targets, which means it is time to celebrate. The children have certainly earned some exciting rewards, including a dance party, slime for the principals and, a definite highlight, the chance to super soak the teachers!

Our fundraising efforts continue as we work towards our Fun Run event on Tuesday 17 November. We are currently asking the children to vote on prizes for our next fundraising targets. Voting closes on Friday, and we will update the Fun Run website with the new targets and prizes once voting is complete.

Every dollar raised will help us create wonderful new spaces and opportunities for our children, including completing our Yarning Circle, installing monkey bars, developing our nature garden and securing our new front entrance with fencing.

Thank you again for your generosity and enthusiasm. It is wonderful to see our APS community working together to make a difference for our children!

Yarning Circle

John Murray, our Koorie Education Support Officer, visited APS again on Tuesday and met with all of our Year 6 children to discuss our plans for the Yarning Circle. The children listened intently and were excited about the opportunity to help turn these plans into reality.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Sam Barber, Harriet’s dad, for generously preparing the landscape design for this space.

We are now in the process of engaging a landscaper to help us determine what we can achieve before the end of the school year. We look forward to seeing this special space begin to take shape as a place for connection, learning and community.

Monkey bar Update

Our new monkey bars are planned to be installed this coming Wednesday! We know the children are very excited to see them arrive and can’t wait to see this new addition to our playground take shape. We look forward to sharing more updates as the project progresses.
