Grade 4

Welcome Back to Term 3
Welcome back to Term 3! It has been wonderful to see all students return refreshed and ready for a new term of learning. Students have settled back into classroom routines well and have made a positive start to the term.
Celebrating NAIDOC Week
We finished Term 2 with our NAIDOC Week celebration, which was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
As part of our “Deadly” NAIDOC Celebration Day, students participated in a First Nations dance workshop, where they enjoyed learning traditional movements and the importance of storytelling through dance. Students also took part in bead-making activities and listened to the story Warrung, helping them develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of First Nations histories, cultures and perspectives.
It was wonderful to see students engaging so enthusiastically in these meaningful learning experiences.
Looking Ahead to Term 3
We have many exciting activities planned this term. Students will have the opportunity to participate in:
- Dress Up Day (17/7), for students to come to school dressed in their future careers
- LEGO Robotics (19/8), where they will develop their creativity, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Book Week celebrations, where we will celebrate the joy of reading through a range of literacy-focused activities.
Literacy
In Literacy, students will be reading Storm Boy, a timeless 1964 Australian children's novella written by Colin Thiele, set in the wild coastal wetlands of the Coorong region in South Australia.
Numeracy
In Numeracy, our focus will be on multiplication. Students will develop their understanding of multiplication concepts and strategies through hands-on activities, problem-solving tasks and real-world applications.
We are looking forward to a wonderful Term 3!
