Year 12 Physics-Luna Park Excursion

On the 5th of March, the Year 12 Physics class travelled to Luna Park Melbourne to experience circular motion beyond the classroom. Under clear skies and beautiful weather, students had the opportunity to observe physics principles in action as they rode and analysed some of the park’s most thrilling attractions.
Accompanied by the ever-supportive teaching team: Ms Carson, Mr Shears, and Khoa the lab technician, the group eagerly embraced both the learning and the fun. With around 20 other schools attending on the day, the park was buzzing with excitement as students explored how forces such as centripetal force and acceleration acted on them throughout the rides.
Among the favourite rides for Viewbank College students were The Enterprise and The Pharaoh, where the exhilarating motion offered the perfect opportunity to feel the effects of physics first-hand. The excursion provided a memorable and engaging way for students to connect theory with real-world experience, turning a day at the amusement park into a hands-on physics lesson. "
