Holt District Netball and Football Lightning Premierships

Each Friday afternoon this term, our Year 5/6 students have been pulling on their boots and bibs to take on other schools in the Holt district for interschool sport. These games are all about fun, learning, and growing as players, and it has been so wonderful to watch our students develop their skills and confidence week by week.

All of that hard work and learning leads to the highlight of the term, the Lightning Premierships!

Netball Lightning Premiership - Thursday 11th June

What a fantastic day our netball teams had at the Holt District Netball Lightning Premiership!

We were represented by two teams on the day, a girls team and a mixed team, and both groups should be incredibly proud of how they played.

Our mixed team played four games, winning two and losing two, and earned their spot in the semi-finals. They played with great heart and effort throughout the day and while they didn't progress to the grand final, they represented our school beautifully.

Our girls team had an absolutely sensational day. They played five games and won every single one, carried that form into the semi-final with a win, and then topped it all off by taking out the grand final. They finished the day completely undefeated and are the B Division Premiership winners! A plaque celebrating their achievement is now proudly on display in the front office, so make sure you stop by and have a look.

It was a wonderful day all round, full of great netball, big smiles, and plenty of school spirit. A huge thank you to the staff and parents who came along to support!

Football Lightning Premiership

The very next day it was time for the boots to come out at the Holt District Football Lightning Premiership, and our Year 5/6 students brought exactly the same energy and enthusiasm to the footy oval!

Our footballers played hard, gave it everything they had, and most importantly had an absolute blast. WIth four tough games through the day, we kept the effort up all day, getting better with each game and managed to take away the win in the final game for the day. Every single player should hold their head high knowing they gave their very best and represented our school with pride.

Well done to all of our footballers. We are incredibly proud of you! 🏉
