Eucalyptus House

Welcome to 2026! It has been an incredibly positive start to the year for Eucalyptus House, and I feel genuinely excited about the journey ahead.

As many of you know, both our Assistant House Leader (Ms Sherry) and I have begun this year in a new House community, alongside our new House Administration Officer (Ms Rhiannon) and several new staff members. While there have been many new faces and fresh beginnings, what has stood out most has been the welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of belonging already developing across our students and staff.

From day one we, as a House, have set high expectations grounded in our core House values of Respect, Kindness and Trying Our Best. It has been wonderful to see students embracing these values in their daily interactions, whether through supporting peers, engaging positively in learning, or demonstrating pride in their House.

Our new Year 7 students have made an outstanding start to secondary school. The Transition program has helped them build confidence, connections and familiarity with their new environment, and we have been incredibly impressed by how quickly they have settled into high school routines. A special thank you must go to our Year 10 Peer Support leaders, who ran a fantastic session with our Year 7s. Their leadership, maturity and willingness to support younger students played a significant role in creating a calm and welcoming environment.

Across the House, there is a noticeable sense of focus and calm as students continue to build on their learning from Smart Start and establish strong habits for the year ahead. Classrooms feel purposeful, students are engaged, and there is a shared commitment to starting the year positively.

We are also looking forward to our upcoming House Swimming Carnival, which is always a highlight of the term. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to demonstrate House spirit, participation, and encouragement for one another, regardless of experience level. We encourage all students to get involved, support their peers and represent our House with pride.

Thank you to our families for your ongoing support as we begin the year together. I am excited about what lies ahead and look forward to celebrating many successes with our community throughout the year.
