STEM Challenge Day | Year 9 Mock Job Interviews | Meet the Team

STEM Challenge Day

On Friday 16th October, Ms Palermo, Ms Tsimilas and Mr Russell organised another successful STEM Challenge Day for our surrounding primary schools. With instruction from the wonderful Mr Wang and Mr Rigby, our talented Science teachers, students learned the basic physics behind common infrastructure like buildings and bridges and how weight distributes across structures.

It was a productive day full of learning and engagement, and we thank the staff who volunteered their time and energy into making it all possible!

Year 9 Mock Job Interviews – Building Skills for the Future

On Wednesday 14 October, our Year 9 students participated in Mock Job Interviews, gaining valuable insight into the world of work and developing important skills for their future pathways.

In preparation for the day, students created their own CVs and cover letters, learning how to present their skills, strengths and experiences in a professional manner. The interviews provided an authentic opportunity to practise responding to interview questions, communicate confidently and reflect on the qualities employers look for in prospective employees.

This experience helped students build confidence, develop communication and interpersonal skills, and better understand the expectations of the workplace. It also encouraged them to reflect on their personal strengths and consider the skills they will continue to develop as they prepare for future employment opportunities.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ms Juric and Mr Rigby, as well as our external provider, for their time, support and expertise in facilitating this valuable learning experience for our Year 9 students.
