Kids Corner

The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features narratives from some of our Year 2 children who have written the Big Bad Wolf fairytale from the wolf’s perspective. I trust you enjoy it just as much as I have!
Dear Fairytale,
My name is Alexander T. Wolf. I’m in here because of the news reporters and they lied! All of them! So can you help me, because I was just going to get a cup of sugar but I had a cold so I accidentally sneezed at the houses, and I can’t control a sneeze.
Also because the houses will get rebuilt by me, from start to end. Also because I did nothing wrong and nothing rude and even if next time I do something wrong, I will fix it and the Big Bad Wolf thing is all wrong, ALL WRONG!
My name is not the Big Bad Wolf, it is Alexander T. Wolf. So can I please go? (By Samaira)
Dear Fairytale Police,
As you know, I’m in jail. My name isn’t the Big Bad Wolf, it is Alexander and this is what really happened. I was making cake for my sweet grandma, then I sneezed and all of the sugar dropped on the floor. Then I needed a cup of sugar, so I asked my neighbour. I said, “Little Pig, Little Pig.”
He replied, “I’m not here!”
But then I sneezed again and the pig died. The same thing happened to the second pig and the third pig was very rude to me! He said, “Get out of here!” and I sneezed again and again and the only thing left to eat was the little pig and second pig.
That’s the real story, so will you get me out of jail because the reporters lied – all of them! The pigs should go to jail because they were rude to me. (By Ohana)
Dear Jail Officers,
My name is Alexander T. Wolf, I don’t even deserve to be in jail because you don’t know the real story.
Me, Alexander T. Wolf, didn’t try to blow the pig’s houses, I just sneezed and then the pigs died from the house falling down.
Then the news reporters found out and said this is boring so they made up the Big Bad Wolf.
So I think the news reporters should be in jail, you should let me go because I didn’t do anything!
