NFA Students Explore Career Pathways Through Work Experience

St Monica’s College Northern Football Academy (NFA) students stepped beyond the classroom to undertake a valuable week of work experience across a diverse range of workplaces and industries.

The week provided students with an opportunity to explore potential career pathways, gain insight into different industries and experience what it is like to work in a professional environment. By engaging with a variety of workplaces, students were able to connect their learning with real-world opportunities and develop a clearer understanding of the skills, qualities and expectations required in the workplace.

Work experience is an important part of preparing students for the world of work. It encourages students to build confidence, take responsibility and engage with professionals in areas of interest. These experiences can help students identify their strengths, discover new interests and make informed decisions about future study and employment pathways.

NFA students undertook placements across a broad range of industries, including sport and fitness, education, construction, retail and real estate.

Some of the workplaces that hosted our students included:

  • Next Gen Soccer Academy

  • The Sports Clinic of Football

  • Strength Recovery Performance

  • Lalor Gardens Primary School

  • AJAX Constructions

  • Eco Watermart

  • Bunnings

  • Ray White Bundoora

  • Nelson Alexander Real Estate

  • Grounders Café

  • Woolworths

  • IGA Thomastown

The participating employers provided outstanding feedback about our students, recognising their enthusiasm, professionalism and willingness to learn. They also wished our students every success in their future endeavours.
