Principal's Message

Dear Families,
Tomorrow, Friday June 26th we come to the end of Term 2. Students will be dismissed at the usual time of 3:20pm. Students will return to school to commence Term 3 on Monday, July 13th. We hope you enjoy this time with your family.
We want to acknowledge the Falla family and hold them in our thoughts and prayers, along with their friends and extended family. They have been a much-valued part of our school community and the loss of Lisa Falla has deeply affected many especially David, Archer and Finn.
We pray for comfort and strength for the family in the days ahead, for peace to surround them and for the love and support of our community to carry them through this difficult time. May they feel held, supported and never alone in their grief.
We look forward to sharing student reports with you this afternoon and meeting for Parent/Teacher Chats early next term. It is vital we continue to have a strong partnership with you. When there is a strong partnership between school and home there is a greater sense of connectedness to the school. This connectedness ultimately leads to the students’ sense of belonging and they feel more settled and comfortable which enhances the learning outcomes for our students.
Anyone who does not accept his cross is not worthy of me. Anyone who welcomes you, welcomes me.
Matthew 10:37-42
In Sunday’s Gospel, Matthew 10:37-42 Jesus presents to us the demands of discipleship. To be worthy of Jesus and the life that he offers us means we must be willing to put God and others first. Our love for Jesus is expressed in the way we interact with others, accepting our responsibility in service to others and developing an openness to all people.
Our Challenges:
- How do we welcome Jesus in the people we meet?
- Do we recognise the ways we make Jesus welcome in our daily lives?
A Servant’s Heart
Prepare my heart for serving,
Let my spirit heed your call;
In obedience to the Father,
Our Lord and King of all.
Fill my thoughts with you, Lord,
Renew my mind today …
I give you full control
In the things I do and say.
Take these hands you gave me,
And use them for your good…
To glorify your Kingdom,
In the ways I know I should.
Remove all doubt within me,
Lord, I trust you’ll find a way
To mould me in your image …
As I walk with you today.
Mini Vinnies
I have loved seeing the enthusiasm of our Mini Vinnies team as they collect and count donations for our Winter Appeal. Knowing that their efforts will help support those doing it tough this winter has inspired them to become even more engaged and enthusiastic, encouraging greater participation and support for this important initiative. We invite all students to wear their winter woolies tomorrow and bring an extra non perishable item or gold coin donation.
Semester One Reports
Student reports provide a valuable summary of your child’s learning progress, achievements and areas for future growth. They are an important way for teachers, students and families to celebrate progress and set goals for future learning.
Semester 1 student reports will be available through the nForma app from today. Families will be able to view and download a PDF copy of their child’s report directly from the app.
Parent/Teacher Chats
Parent/Teacher Chats will be held on Tuesday 21st July from 2.30pm until 6.30pm. These chats provide an opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss student reports, progress and social/emotional development. Please make a booking via the school interviews site: https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/code using the booking code nfjce
