Responsible Behaviour in the Playground: Moving to Lines Quickly

This fortnight, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus is on showing respectful and responsible behaviour in the playground. The playground is a great place to have fun, play, and enjoy time with friends, but it’s important that we use it safely and follow school expectations.

Why is this important?

When we move quickly to our lines as soon as the music starts—and are ready to learn when the bell rings—everyone can transition smoothly and safely back to class. This helps teachers and staff get lessons underway on time, keeps our playground safe, and shows respect for everyone’s learning.

Let’s all work together by:

  • Stopping play immediately when the music begins
  • Walking straight to your correct line—no lingering or playing on the way
  • Listening to staff and following their instructions
  • Being in your line, calm and ready, when the bell goes
  • Looking out for younger students who might need help
  • Taking care of playground equipment and packing away before moving to lines

Moving promptly and being ready in line shows that we are responsible and respectful learners. It lets everyone get back to class quickly and keeps our day running smoothly.

Let’s all do the right thing and help make our school a safer and happier place for learning and growing together!
