We are very excited to announce we will be hosting an author visit this year. On Thursday, 11th June (T2, W8) Sami Bayly, an amazing author and illustrator, will be coming to Roselea to speak to our students.

Sami Bayly is an international award-winning author and illustrator who is based in Newcastle, Australia. She loves all things weird and wonderful and enjoys painting realistic flora and fauna with watercolours. Her favourite topics tend to be the ones most people like to avoid... such as 'ugly' animals, parasites, extinct animals and more.
After studying at The University of Newcastle, Sami graduated in 2018 with a bachelor of Natural History Illustration (Honours). In her final year, she was approached by publishers and gained her first book deal, which kick started her career in publishing. Since 2019, she has published seven books and has been shortlisted for/won over 20 awards.
Sami is the author and illustrator of a five-set series of beautifully illustrated books including the titles:
Sami is also the author of two hybrid picture books which focus on animal evolution stories for younger children. They are, How We Came To Be - Surprising Sea Creatures and How We Came To Be - Creatures of Camouflage and Mimicry.

All students, K – 6, have the opportunity to attend this event.
Sami will speak to K-2, Stage 2 (3-4) and Stage 3 (5-6).
A permission note for this incursion will be sent out soon.
Happy Reading!
