Principal's Message

Mrs Kylie Bryant - Principal

It has been another busy and rewarding fortnight here at Roselea, with many wonderful opportunities for our school community to connect, participate, and our students demonstrate their expertise.

Last week, we hosted the Zone Cross Country Carnival at Fagan Park. Mr So and Mr Love led the organisation and I am incredibly proud of the work they did with commendations coming from our PSSA Association President on the organisation and smooth running of the carnival. Our students demonstrated great determination, resilience, and team spirit as they took on the challenge among schools from across the Beecroft zone. It was wonderful to see such enthusiastic participation and support from families with so many parents standing on the sidelines cheering our students on #getinvolvedatRoselea. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success—it was a fantastic celebration of fitness, talent and determination. Special congratulations to Leo V from 4C who placed 1st and Jude A from 5/6L who placed 6th in their respective events.

Congratulations to our Year 6 debating team for their impressive victory against West Pennant Hills Public School last week! Serving as the negative team, our debaters skillfully argued against the idea that top students should spend an hour each week in the afternoon helping struggling students. They presented thoughtful points about balancing academic, extracurricular, and personal commitments, highlighting alternative support systems already in place. Their teamwork, clarity, and persuasive arguments contributed to their well-deserved win—well done to all involved!

Last week I held our latest Community Connectors Meeting where our Connectors came together to share ideas, discuss school initiatives, and explore ways to hear community voice as we begin planning the next four year School Excellence Plan. These meetings are a vital part of our partnership with families and I am grateful for our Connectors’ time and input.

A reminder that we have the following Connector Groups. If you wish to be part of any of these groups, please complete the form here  #getinvolvedatRoselea

In Term 2, we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported.

Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can access the survey at https://surveyme.education.nsw.gov.au/sc/xzPyeSbnJxgaKU6z0CjpGg2

Yesterday the P&C held their monthly meeting. It has been a busy start to the term with all of the Mother’s Day activities and I was excited to hear their plans for the remainder of the year. We can look forward to another Play and Popcorn afternoon later this term and then some key events for Semester 2. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Melissa Peterson and Paramjit Kaur Singh for the work they have done in their roles as Vice President. Both Mel and Paramjit have made the tough decision to step down from these roles, I thank them for their time and dedication.  The P&C will be calling for nominations for both of these positions in the next election. Parents volunteering in schools strengthens the sense of community and supports student learning. It provides opportunities for parents to engage in school activities, share their skills, and build connections with staff and other families. By volunteering, parents help create a positive environment and contribute to the success of the school. #getinvolvedatRoselea
