Mathematics News – Victorian Mathematics Games Challenge

The Victorian Mathematics Games Challenge is an engaging six-part online competition designed for high-achieving Mathematics students in Years 5–10.

Teams of 2–4 students complete a series of self-paced modules, with each module designed to take approximately 90–120 minutes to complete.

To minimise teacher facilitation, each task is automatically scored upon submission, with prizes awarded throughout the program to teams and individuals achieving the highest scores.

Modules are released monthly and must be completed within a two-month window. There are six modules to be completed across the year.

Yarrabing Secondary College has entered two teams into this event.

The results from the first module have now been released, and it is my pleasure to announce that our two teams are currently ranked 2nd and 3rd in Victoria.

The six team members involved, listed in alphabetical order, are:

  • Boro (9B2)

  • Daniel (9B2)

  • Galvin (9G2)

  • Jaskirat (9R1)

  • Shayaan (9R1)

  • Tim (9B1)

We congratulate these students on their achievement so far and wish them all the best for the upcoming modules.
