Curriculum Planning for 2027
Curriculum and staffing planning for 2027 is well underway. Curriculum offerings for Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 have been provisionally determined to support the recruitment process for next year.
The curriculum offered to Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 students will be very similar to that delivered in 2026, with the continuation of a Language Other Than English (LOTE) program and the continuation of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) being offered across all year levels.
Particularly exciting for the college is the detailed work that we are currently completing in planning for our Senior School provision in the years ahead, and in particular for Year 10 in 2027. Next year the college will be offering not only an extensive Year 10 curriculum, but also a small number of Year 11 VCE subjects to our students who have been identified as being able to access this learning.
The Year 10 curriculum will also provide students with the opportunity to select from a range of elective subjects. As always, the breadth of subjects offered will depend on our ability to recruit staff to support this diverse and engaging curriculum.
It is anticipated that Year 9 and Year 10 students will begin the subject selection process in the middle of Term 3.
Teaching and leadership positions for commencement in 2027 are expected to be advertised from late June 2026.
Semester 1 Reports
We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 this year as usual.
The reports will be distributed on the 26 June 2026.
The reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments may not be included as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.
We will of course be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our next parent-teacher interviews scheduled for the end of next term, or, as always, you can contact your student’s House coordinators.
Stage 2 works are progressing well
The latest phase of our School Building Master Plan with the construction of our Stage 2 buildings have begun very well. I am confident and optimistic that this work will be completed on time and to a very high standard by the end of the year.
The challenge of course is to continue to run a school of close to 680 students, and at the same time build new facilities that will include a learning neighbourhood, an administration building, and two sports ovals, adding 650 student places. Of course, experience helps but good monitoring and adjusting our processes also play a significant role.
Credit to both our students and our staff who continue to work around the challenges of the new build. We all know that it will be worth it in the end.
