SLA

The SLA students had a rollicking good time at their camp from the 23rd to the 24th of October at Coastal Forest Lodge. Once they arrived on day 1, they had a jam-packed afternoon of activities that included low ropes, photo trail, damper cooking, archery and mini golf.
Wildlife was abundant as were some friendly farm animals that took to some of the students! The night walk through the bush was also enjoyable.
Day two at Anglesea beach was an invigorating experience for all students, with the crisp water and shining sun. Surf Safety was the learning day. Students learnt CPR, rescue skills, and how to bodyboard. Hesitant at first and although cold, once in the water the students loved the activities.
Taking Action - Clothes Drive & Food Donations
As part of their ‘Taking Action’, the Minie Vinnies group organised a clothes drive. Thanks to the SJW community for your generous donations, it was a success! All proceeds will be sent to Mini Vinnies to help those in need.
You may remember, in Term 3, our SLA students also led a meaningful Acts of Service initiative through a food drive supporting Reservoir Neighbourhood House. Thanks to the generosity of our SJW families, a wide variety of food was donated, including items especially helpful for those in crisis or experiencing homelessness. Katrina and Cedric shared some details of their visit to RNH, describing how the donations brought much-needed relief to a community facing food insecurity due to the rising cost of living. Your contributions truly made a difference.
RNH is always looking for more donations throughout the year. They accept donations during office hours.
Congratulations and thanks to the SLA students and their families who made this possible.
