Co-Curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

This week will be the last week of summer sport for the Junior School this term. I hope that it has been an exciting time where you have made strides forward with your development, met some new friends, made memories, but most importantly had some fun. There will be no summer sport training after this Saturday’s final round of the term.
You may be asked by your coach, particularly in basketball and touch football, to assist with the returning of College kits. Please be generous with your support of the coaches and volunteer to bring your kit back to school. All equipment, unused game balls included for cricket, tennis and softball should be returned to Mr Locke on Monday 23 March.
Boys in basketball and touch football are reminded that they need to keep their singlets. These will be needed again in Term 4, when we resume the second half of the summer season.
Last week, a small contingent of boys attended the first IPSHA AFL trial. This is the first time IPSHA have run their own trial. Traditionally, AFL went straight to CIS trials. This is testament to the growth of the sport and the high quality of players coming through our pathways. Congratulations to James of 6 Orange for his selection in the IPSHA AFL team. I know the community will join me in wishing him well at the CIS competition.
Boys wishing to sign up for Chess can see me in my office to express their interest in participating in trials. I can also be emailed on john. locke@spc.nsw.edu.au.

Once winter sport trials have been completed, boys will have until Friday 1 May to purchase playing uniforms for their selected sport. It is expected that all boys will have the correct uniform for Round 1 of the winter season. Boys not wearing the correct uniform will not be able to take the field.
Wishing everyone all the best for the last game of the term. Work hard and put everything you have been working on into this final game. Show your parents/carers, your coaches and yourselves just how far you have come this term. This way, win, lose or draw you can finish the summer season with a positive performance.
