Welcome to Grade 5
Welcome to Year 5, 2026!
We are so excited to be teaching Year 5 this year, as our students enter their senior years of primary school. Stepping into their roles as leaders of the school, our students are learning to navigate and master new challenges and opportunities, in their learning and beyond.
We have many exciting things coming up in Term 1 - between excursions to Parliament, Lent and Easter celebrations, sports gala day and NAPLAN preparations, it sure is full to the brim!
Our literacy learning this term includes exploring the classic novel War Horse, inspiring our creation of imaginative and persuasive texts. In numeracy we are exploring and reviewing many areas of mathematics, including data, shape and place value. Our Religious Education learning will follow the Lenten journey and in Knowledge Based Curriculum, we will be exploring civics and citizenship, framed by the context of school community and leadership.
We are also excited for the opportunities to meet with families and carers in Term 1 parent/teacher conferences. We look forward to working together and guiding our students through these exciting first months of Year 5!
