Dear St Francis Xavier Families,
This Sunday is the feast day of St Francis Xavier. We will be celebrating this occasion tomorrow, beginning with a prayer service in the Red Centre, a sausage sizzle at lunch time and special, fun activities in the afternoon. We'd love you to join us for the morning prayer service. Details below. Happy St Francis Xavier Feast Day!
With the end of the 2023 school year fast approaching there is a great deal going on. Many events such as excursions and special presentations are occurring and Christmas activities will soon begin. At home, Christmas trees will shortly be assembled, houses decorated, and if you're like me, there is a lot of Christmas shopping yet to be done! Such a busy but happy time of the year. With this in mind may I take the opportunity to invite you join us for our Advent morning prayer services. There are four of these and you are welcome to attend one or all of them. They take about 15 minutes and are a wonderful opportunity to experience a calm, reflective start to the day and contemplate our faith during this season. Details below.
A big thank you to the Preps for organising their Kindness Project and encouraging everyone to provide non perishable foods and Christmas goods for families in need throughout the Frankston community.
Only ten days left for donations - thank you to the families who have already contributed.
SACRAMENTS 2024
Prior to the end of the year I will be sending home a form asking for an indication as to which families would like their children to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion or Confirmation in 2024. Students are required to have been baptised prior to receiving these Sacraments and are prepared within the classroom faith program.
If you would like your child baptised in 2024 please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Fr Chinua has given me permission to prepare our SFX students. The preparation for baptism takes place here after school and usually involves two 30 minute sessions.
God's blessings and best wishes,
Marion O'Brien
