Our Fishing Excursion

Thursday's fishing lesson and rod setup

We were lucky enough to have Glenn and 4 volunteers from 'That's The Thing about Fishing' to come to school to help us set up our rods that were provided by The State Government. This was part of an insentive to encourage students to be active outdoors.

They came and explained the benefits of fishing and set up our rods ready for our excursion. They were very patient with us and it was a great experience to chat all things fishing.

Friday's walk to Frankston Pier and fishing adventure

On Friday morning we walked down to Frankston Pier. We met Glenn and his volunteers there where we learnt about casting. We then headed to the end of the pier where we started fishing!

We were all very patient and enjoyed casting or dropping our lines in. Although there were not many nibbles, the children were very focused and had a lot of fun.

Harper managed to catch our only fish!! It was very exciting and she did an amazing job of reeling it in! Well done Harper :)

After 2 hours of fishing, we packed up our rods and enjoyed some hot chips and potato cakes for lunch.

We had such a great morning and are very thankful for the guys from 'That's the Thing about Fishing' who spent their time helping us learn to fish!

Please visit Glenn's website for more information on their Christmas Fishing Clinic and future holiday programs.
