Bill Turner Cup

The U15 boys put a huge effort in over their three games, showing massive improvement across the day. Despite coming away without a win, their effort and attitude could not be faulted.

For the girls, they worked incredibly hard, earning 2nd in their group! With one win, one draw and one loss they showed amazing resilience and teamwork to earn their fantastic results. I could not be prouder of their attitude and effort.

Uhlsport Cup

The Open boys team had a great first match against an organised and composed Marist College team. 

The end result was a 4-0 loss with a few late goals from the opposition. 

Our team were solid and made quite a few really good chances but just couldn’t capitalise on them. 

Cross Country Carnival

Congratulations to Freeman House on being crowned Cross Country Champions for 2026.

The Cross Country Carnival was a fantastic afternoon, with strong participation across all year levels.

It was great to see students supporting each other and pushing themselves across the course.

Thank you to all students and staff for contributing to a successful event.

District Cross Country Team

Best of luck to all students representing the school at the District Cross Country Carnival on 12 May at Pine Rivers Park.

Information regarding this event has been shared with selected students.

Mountain Biking

Our first Rocky Trail Academy race of the year will take place at Mt Cotton on 15 May.

Riders compete for grade-based category podium positions for girls and boys in Junior (Years 7–8), Intermediate (Years 9–10), and Senior (Years 11–12) divisions.

Racers also earn points for their school, competing for the Champion School title.

Further details will be distributed to students who have registered.

Year 9 Gala Day

Year 9 students are invited to take part in Gala Day on Wednesday 13 May (Week 5) at South Pine Sports Complex.

Students can form teams and choose from beach volleyball, touch football, basketball, futsal, and netball.

To participate, students must sign up via Microsoft Forms and obtain parent permission through Q-Parents.

Further details will be distributed to the year 9 cohort next week. 

Students should wear their sports uniform and bring lunch, water, and any required equipment. Students not participating will attend a normal school day.

Vicki Wilson Netball Championship

Best wishes to our teams competing on 9 June at Downey Park Netball Association.

Students have been preparing well and are looking forward to the competition.

District & Regional Sporting Nominations

A range of District and Regional sporting opportunities are currently available. Details are posted regularly via DayMap notices.

Students should check notices daily.

Nomination Process:

• Discuss suitability with HPE staff in the Sports Hall staffroom

• Complete the online nomination form via the QR code provided

• Once nominations close, West District will forward trial documentation. 

Completed forms must be returned via email to Mr Moran or Mr Hottes.
