Year 12 Debating Team

 Last week, the school's Grade 12 debating team competed against Queensland Academies of Creative Industries in a short-prep debate and were awarded the WIN in what was described as a very close and high-quality round!

The topic was ‘We regret the glorification of humanity’ and we were the affirmative team.

The team – Hannah, Samuel, and Jasper, with Paris as Chair – demonstrated impressive confidence, critical thinking, and composure despite the limited preparation time. 

The adjudicator particularly commended their strong rebuttal skills and ability to engage with complex philosophical ideas and apply them to real-world contexts.

It was a fantastic performance and a great reflection of the students’ preparation and commitment – WELL DONE!
