Welcome Back - Term 2 Week 2

We hope you and your families had a restful and enjoyable break. As we step into Term 2, we’re excited to reconnect with our students and continue building on the fantastic learning and growth we witnessed in Term 1.

This term promises to be full of opportunities, challenges, and exciting milestones. From upcoming excursions, camps and school events to new learning units across all year levels, there’s so much to look forward to. Our dedicated staff have been busy preparing engaging lessons and experiences designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in every student.

Term 1 Report Cards

As Term 1 report cards have now been sent home, we encourage you to take some time with your child to reflect on their progress so far. Celebrating achievements no matter how big or small can build confidence and motivation, while identifying areas for improvement helps set meaningful goals for Term 2. Encourage your student to think about ways they can improve their learning habits and classroom behaviour whether it’s staying more organised, asking more questions, or managing time effectively. One powerful step is reminding students that it's okay to ask for help. Seeking support from their teachers whether for feedback, clarification, or extra guidance shows initiative and a willingness to grow. These steps not only support academic progress but also help build important life skills. Promoting self-reflection and goal setting empowers students to take ownership of their learning and strive for continuous growth.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Our first Parent Teacher interviews and student led conference will be held on Tuesday 5th May starting at 2 pm.  The purpose of the conference is leading effective, growth-focused parent teacher interviews during the interim reporting period. It helps ensure that conversations centre on student learning progress, reflection, and future improvements, rather than solely on summative results.

On Tuesday 5th May students will be dismissed at the end of period 3 (12.50 pm).

Uniform

Our school has an established uniform policy which outlines the expectations for all students enrolled at the school. The uniform policy can be found on our school website (search uniform policy for the latest version).

Reminders for Term 2:

  • Jewellery is one focus area for the school this term. This week our school leadership team, consisting of Heads of Year, Heads of Department and Deputy Principals, are reminding students about the requirements for jewellery and providing them with the following information.
    • Students may wear:
      • Up to 2 earrings in each ear. These must be plain sleepers or studs (max 15mm).
      • A watch.
    • Students may not wear:
      • ‘Hoop’ style earrings that exceed 15mm in diameter
      • Dangling earrings
      • Bracelets, necklaces
      • Rings, facial piercings
  • As the weather begins to cool over the coming weeks, it is timely to ensure students have the correct school jumper.

Students any incorrect uniform visit E03 between 8:10am and 8:30am and where possible, will be provided with a uniform item to ensure that they are compliant with the uniform policy.

Cross Country

Our Cross Country event in Week 1 was a fantastic start to the term, with outstanding student participation across all year levels. It was wonderful to see students and staff alike embracing the day, with many teachers joining in to walk the course and support our runners. The strong turnout reflects more than just enthusiasm for sport, it highlights a growing sense of belonging, connection, and pride within our school community.

Events like this give students the opportunity to challenge themselves, support one another, and feel part of something bigger than themselves.

Congratulations to Freeman House for taking out the Cross Country title; they now lead the Interhouse Cup ladder. The overall house winner will be announced in Term 3, and we look forward to more spirited competition ahead.
