Hello Cassia families,

We hope your Week 8 has been unfolding smoothly. As Autumn slowly creeps in we have been noticing the shifts in the land around us, some children have even seen some procession caterpillars out!

This week in Cassia, we spoke about who packs our lunch boxes. At this age, it is a wonderful gift to encourage children to use their own bodies and inner strength to care for their belongings (age-appropriately, of course). A simple yet valuable part of their daily routine during drop-off and pick-up is carrying their own bag, unzipping and unpacking it, placing their lunch and fruit in the fruit basket, and then zipping their bag back up. This practice fosters a sense of ownership while also supporting sequential thinking, gross and fine motor skills, and care for their belongings.

At home, you can continue nurturing this sense of responsibility by encouraging your child to unpack their lunchbox at the end of the day. Small, consistent actions like these help develop independence and respect for their things, both at school and at home.

In Cassia, we have been busy creating invitations for the upcoming Autumn Festival, so expect some beautifully crafted invitations—ready for your child to unpack from their bag!

Love,
Rose, Sophie, Letitia & Mazzy
