ANTIPODES FESTIVAL

The 37th Antipodes Festival made its return to Melbourne this weekend, continuing its tradition as a beloved cultural event, proudly hosted by the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM).
Over 100,000 people flooded the Lonsdale Street corridor on both Saturday and Sunday, immersing themselves in a vibrant celebration of Greek music, dance, food, and beverages. The festival is a unique fusion of tradition and community, where artists, musicians, dancers, and festivalgoers come together to celebrate a culture that, while geographically distant, resonates within the Melbourne community.
Our Year 12 IB student, Kleopatra Varchalama, gave an outstanding performance at the Antipodes Lonsdale Street Festival on Saturday evening. She showcased twelve beautiful Greek dances, and despite the challenging heat, her performance was spectacular.
Please join me in offering her our warmest congratulations for this wonderful achievement.
