Boarding Orientation Program

Last Sunday we welcomed our incoming boarders and their families for the 2027 Boarding Orientation Program. For some girls, the excitement of beginning a new adventure was obvious, while for others, there were understandably a few nerves about what lies ahead.

Throughout the afternoon, families toured the Boarding House, met our key staff, learned about our routines and expectations, and enjoyed the opportunity to connect over a barbecue dinner. A special thank you to our current boarders who generously gave their time to conduct tours, sharing their own experiences and helping families become familiar with the House.

Our Head Boarder, Airlee, and Deputy Head Boarder, Matilda, organised and ran an Amazing Race for our incoming girls. Their efforts helped create a relaxed and enjoyable environment where new friendships could begin to form.

On Monday, the girls experienced their first taste of College life and afternoon Boarding House routines, including our annual Yo-Chi run, which is fast becoming a favourite Orientation tradition!

While Orientation involves plenty of information, its purpose is more than simply explaining leave forms, study times and daily routines. It is the beginning of a partnership between families and our Boarding team, built on communication, shared expectations and trust.

It is also an opportunity for our new girls to discover that, although Boarding will bring new responsibilities and challenges, they will not be navigating them alone.

We look forward to welcoming our newest boarders back in January, when their next chapter at Loreto begins.
