Visual Arts

This year has been a wonderfully creative one in Visual Art, capped off by a vibrant Term 4 as every class designed and constructed costumes and props for our Arts Week concert. Students worked with impressive focus and enthusiasm, creating items for their own performances as well as contributing pieces for other grades. Throughout the process they experimented with a wide range of practical skills — from careful cutting and gluing to supervised hot-glue work, beginner sewing, and exploring materials such as fabric, cardboard and a treasure trove of craft supplies. It was a joy to watch students problem-solve, collaborate and take pride in seeing their creations come to life on stage.

Arts Week also featured a truly memorable art exhibition that brought our community together in the most joyful way. Families enjoyed a relaxed afternoon wandering through student artworks, cooling off with the ice-cream truck, grabbing a coffee, joining in face painting, scavenger hunts, colouring activities, flower-making stations, and even life-drawing sessions featuring some very patient teachers. The atmosphere was warm, celebratory and filled with genuine appreciation for our young artists. Thank you to our entire school community for your enthusiastic support throughout the year — your presence and encouragement make these creative experiences so special for our students.
