Hume Sorry Day Event Excursion - term 2

We joined the Hume CC's Sorry Day event to reflect, learn and show our commitment to reconciliation. It was a unique learning experience for our women to learn about the past of our First Nations People and their painful past.

Sewing for Charity  (Capes 4 Kids Australia) - term 3

Our sewing participants created bright, superhero-themed capes for children in hospitals. Their generosity, creativity and teamwork made this project truly special. The capes have been posted off to Capes 4 Kids Australia, in hopes that they reach the resilient little heroes in our hospitals in time for Christmas to put smiles on their little faces.

Father’s Day Footy Night - term 3

a fun-filled night where families enjoyed a lively footy evening facilitated by Roxburgh Park Magpies Football Club, celebrating the dads and father figures who bring so much love and strength to our community.

Term 4 Highlights

Altona Beach Water Safety Excursion – Life Saving Victoria

One of the standout moments of Term 4 was our excursion to Altona Beach with Roxburgh Rise Community Hub, delivered in partnership with Life Saving Victoria. Graced with gorgeous weather, women spent the day learning essential water-safety skills from trained lifesavers everything from reading beach safety signs, to understanding rips, to practising safe rescue techniques and playing beach games. In addition to this, we had a picnic on the grass where all the women brought delicious food to share.

Toy Well Australia Filming

Our hub had the privilege of hosting Toy Well Australia as they filmed their finalist video for 2025 Victorian Early Years Awards (VEYA). It was a joy to see our families and volunteers shine on camera, showing what a nurturing, inclusive space the hub really is.

End of Year Breakfast

We finished Term 4 in true community style gathered around the table, sharing food and gratitude. Our annual End of Year Breakfast is becoming a hub tradition, and it was lovely to celebrate the year’s achievements side by side with families and volunteers.
