FIFA WORLD CUP JERSEY & FAN TICKET DESIGN
This term, our Year 8 Visual Communication Design students became sports designers as they took on the challenge of creating a limited-edition FIFA World Cup 2026 supporter jersey and fan ticket for an allocated nation.
Working as designers, students followed the VCD process by researching their country's culture, landmarks, landscapes, wildlife and football identity before generating and refining original design concepts. They explored how colours, typography, patterns, symbols and imagery can communicate a nation's identity while appealing to a teenage audience.
Throughout the learning task, students developed their ideas through sketching, mood boards, annotations and design iterations before producing a final jersey and ticket design. Rather than copying existing uniforms, students were encouraged to think creatively and design unique supporter merchandise that celebrated each nation's story.
It was fantastic to see students embrace the role of designer, experimenting with bold ideas, taking creative risks and thoughtfully explaining the decisions behind their work. The classroom was filled with vibrant discussions about culture, identity, sport and design, with every student producing a unique solution.
I am incredibly proud of the creativity, problem-solving and design thinking demonstrated throughout this learning task. Congratulations to our talented Year 8 designers on an outstanding showcase of imagination and innovation!
Well done!
