DISTRICT SWIMMING OVERVIEW

Last Thursday the 26th, five brave swimmers, Brianna, Kenzi, Skylar, Chloe, and Luke, proudly represented our school at District Swimming. The day began with windy conditions, but the sun soon made an appearance as our team competed against seven other schools. Each swimmer showed great courage and determination, stepping up to the pool with confidence and giving their absolute best in every race. No matter the result, they finished their events with smiles and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.

Physical Education - Miss Atherton

Our Prep–2 students are continuing to enjoy their Athletics sessions, building confidence in running, jumping and throwing through a variety of fun games and activities. It’s been great to see their enthusiasm as they practise specific skills and encourage one another while having a go.

Our Grade 3/4 students are working hard to develop the skills needed to play a full game of T-Ball next week, which they are really looking forward to. This week they played a lead-up game called Beat the Bucket, which helped them practise throwing, fielding and teamwork in a fast-paced and enjoyable way. They then extended these skills in a game of TBall - Fully Loaded!

Meanwhile, our Grade 5/6 students confidently played their first full game of T-Ball for the term. It was fantastic to see them putting together the skills they have been learning over the past few weeks. The games were full of energy, and many students are already beginning to think about positioning, teamwork and simple strategies, not just the basic skills. We’re looking forward to seeing their confidence and game sense continue to grow over the coming weeks.

Visual Arts

Over the past two weeks, students have been creating a storm in the Art classroom! Here’s what each grade has been working on:

Preps – Bugs on a collage background.

Grade 1/2 – Self-portraits and Hundertwasser inspired houses.

Grade 3/4 – Still life artworks and Pop Art donuts.

Grade 5/6 – Pop Art words and Pete Cromer inspired artworks.

Drama

Our Preps–Grade 2 students have been responding to the story Alexander’s Outing and learning about character, freeze frames, mime, staying in character, and using expressive voices.

Science

We have been LOVING tracking our plant growth in 1/2 S and M!
