Learning Community 2

It's been a busy few weeks in 3/4! 

We have be practising our persuasive writing skills, by creating what we believe is the 'World's Best Burger'. Once created, we had to decide why it was the best, and create a persuasive piece to convince others that it was better that all other burgers. We practised using the OREO structure for writing our persuasive body paragraphs. 

In Maths we have been learning and revising strategies we can use to solve addition and subtraction sums. We have used the split strategy, bar models and vertical addition and subtraction layouts to solve these sums. 

Reading has focused on making inferences and determining the author's purpose of given texts. We used short texts and animations to make inferences about the character's feelings and predict actions. It's amazing what we can infer when we use text clues and our prior knowledge! 

Lastly, we have created some 'Protect the Amazon' persuasive posters in Humanities. We are looking at types of vegetation and land features in other countries such as Brazil. Check out our work!
