The PFA in Action

Building Community Through Connection and Volunteering
Kilvington’s Parents and Friends Association (PFA) has enjoyed a busy start to the year, bringing our families together through a range of inclusive and fun community events.
We are incredibly grateful to the many parents who volunteered their time at the pop-up canteen and sausage sizzle during the Senior School House Athletics Carnival at the end of Term 1, as well as to our dedicated team of volunteers who continue to run the extremely popular Secondhand Uniform Shop (SHUS), now operating from its new home in The Commons next to the Omnibus Café.
These events not only support the School and students in practical ways, but also provide valuable opportunities for families to connect and build friendships across all year levels.
Mother's Day
Our annual Mother’s Day celebrations were another highlight. The Mother’s Day Stall gave all our students the chance to select special gifts for the important women in their lives, and the Mother’s Day Breakfast in Dalton Hall, staffed by a healthy contingent of Kilvington dads, welcomed over 115 guests for a warm and memorable morning of celebration and connection. Thank you to Katie Amos and PFA President, Nadine Power, for leading these much-loved events.
Disco Trivia Night
Adding plenty of sparkle to the start of the Term 2 was the fabulous Disco Trivia Night held on Saturday 2 May at the Glen Eira Town Hall. Filled with general knowledge, music, laughter and dancing, the evening was a wonderful celebration of community spirit.
Special thanks to Kim Johnston, Anthea Cooper, Nelsie Fernandez and Soniya Kulkarni from the Trivia Committee for their outstanding work coordinating the event, and congratulations to our best dressed disco diva, Year 9 mum Hun Aung, and to Megan Moore’s winning table of Year 10 parents.
Volunteering at School events is a rewarding way for parents to meet other families, contribute to School life and feel more connected to their child’s experience at Kilvington. You can see the range of upcoming volunteer opportunities below.
The Parents and Friends Association sincerely thanks all volunteers for their ongoing support and encourages more families to get involved throughout the year.
