Student Achievement

Scholars' Assembly

Our inaugural Scholars' Assembly was held earlier this month to formally recognise and celebrate the achievements of our highest performing students from the previous academic year. The assembly brought together our two Duces, who tied for top academic results, to be acknowledged for their outstanding effort and achievement.

It was such a meaningful new addition to the School calendar; we thank Derek and Caleb for returning to share their wisdom and congratulate all members of the Class of 2025 on their exceptional achievements.

da Vinci Decathlon Competition

Congratulations to all students who represented Kilvington in the recent Senior and Junior da Vinci Decathlon competitions, achieving a series of outstanding results.

The da Vinci Decathlon is a prestigious academic competition that challenges students in higher-order thinking, creativity, problem-solving and teamwork across ten disciplines inspired by the interdisciplinary brilliance of Leonardo da Vinci.

At the Senior da Vinci Decathlon, hosted by Penleigh and Essendon Grammar, our Year 8 team achieved 1st Place in Science, while our Year 9 team placed 2nd in Engineering.

At the Junior da Vinci Decathlon, hosted by Korowa Anglican Girls’ School, our Year 6 team achieved 1st Place in both Art & Poetry and Ideation, along with 2nd Place in Science. Our Year 5 team also performed exceptionally well, achieving 1st Place in English and 3rd Place in Cartography.

These are fantastic achievements in a highly competitive field, and we are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, collaboration and determination shown by all students throughout the competition. Thank you to Mrs Bush, Mrs Whitehead and Mrs Chandler for their preparation, guidance and support of our students across both events.

Bayspeak

In early May four Kilvington students participated in the Rotary Bayspeak Public Speaking Competition. In the Year 7–9 division, Aayden Ng and Aarit Arora delivered engaging and thoughtful speeches, while Liam Eliav and Emma Gracey represented the School in the Senior Division.

All students spoke with confidence and were exceptionally well prepared throughout the competition. Competing against five other speakers, Aarit impressed the judges to win his division and progressed to the Bayspeak final in June! Congratulations Aarit.
