Biderap - Senior Girls

The girls have finished the term on a very positive note, with plenty of achievements, exciting activities, and memorable experiences to celebrate.

A highlight of the term was the fantastic team spirit shown by the girls as the football and basketball seasons came to an end. Students supported one another throughout the finals, cheering each other on from the sidelines and celebrating each other's successes. The AFL teams played exceptionally well, as did all of the students involved in Collingwood Basketball and The Richmond Skippers Netball teams.

Several girls received well-deserved recognition for their sporting achievements. MJ was awarded the Player of the Finals trophy for the Richmond Junior Football Club U14 Black team. Latia also received a Player of the Finals trophy, while Tayha was recognised with the 2nd Best and Fairest award for her U16 Richmond Junior Football Club team. Rosie, Lulu and Ella were part of the Fitzroy Stars Football Club premiership team, winning their Grand Final. Rosie was additionally awarded the Best on Ground medal. All girls who participated in sport this season received medals, recognising their commitment and efforts.

R U OK? Day was a huge success, with the girls enthusiastically participating in a range of rewarding activities. The Year 8 girls embraced the spirit of the day by dressing up in yellow, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the therapy dogs that visited in the afternoon.

Lexi and RJ returned from eight weeks at Marshmead Camp, where they challenged themselves, developed new skills, and enjoyed a truly memorable experience.

The girls have continued to enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities this term. Birra Run, a running club shared with students from Poorneet, has been particularly popular. They have also enjoyed jewellery making and beading, ten-pin bowling, Bounce, water slides at MaterMark, pamper and movie nights, shopping trips to Victoria Gardens and Melbourne Central, walks through Fitzroy Gardens, and evening cruises exploring the beach and city lights.

We are also excited to celebrate Shaylee and Tai, who starred in a Project Rockit government film project focused on addressing bullying and promoting inclusivity for young people. The project will be released soon.

To mark the end of their final term, our Year 12 students enjoyed a special celebration dinner at Bomba Tapas Bar and Rooftop, creating lasting memories together.

Meanwhile, the Year 8 students finished the term with an overnight stay at Tuerong Farm with Liz and Rick. They enjoyed exploring nature, spending time outdoors, and working together to make delicious lasagna.

As the term comes to a close, we are incredibly proud of the girls for their achievements, resilience, and support of one another. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to another exciting term ahead.
