Balaclava District Sport Round-Robin
Mia Nation and Maisie Lewicki, Year 6
On Wednesday 25 June, our Years 5 and 6 students braved so far the coldest day of the year to compete in the Balaclava District Sport Round-Robin. We had teams participating in four different sports – netball, soccer, softball and AFL 9s.
Despite the extremely chilly conditions, our teams performed incredibly well, showing positive spirit, impressive effort levels and outstanding attitudes. Our training sessions this term have clearly paid off, with some excellent team play evident across each of the sports.
Special congratulations to our netball girls and AFL 9s girls teams, both of whom are District champions, thanks to their excellent results on the day!
A big thank you to our committed and supportive teachers and sports coaches, who braved the elements with us to ensure this round-robin could go ahead. A final very special thanks to Mrs Ryan for organising all of our interschool sport this year.
Kilvington Cross Country Carnival
Luke Bahramis, Head of Sport
We were once again blessed with perfect weather for our annual Cross Country Carnival last Friday, and what a fantastic day it was! The School came alive with colour, energy and house pride as students gave their all across the 3km course at EE Gunn Reserve.
A huge thank you to all the staff who helped make the event run so smoothly - from marshalling and recording to cheering on students and assisting behind the scenes. Special mention to Andrew Hester, Kirsten Emerton and Martine Walls, who ran alongside students and brought an extra boost of encouragement and spirit.
With an outstanding 99% participation rate, it was inspiring to see so many students pushing themselves and proudly representing their Houses.
A big thank you also to our Heads of House for the work they put in behind the scenes to bring this event to life. To our amazing PE team - your planning and support make coordinating this day an absolute breeze. We’re also grateful to our student photographers for taking some great shots on the day.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2025 Cross Country one of our most enjoyable and memorable yet!

Senior winter sport wrap-up
It’s been an action-packed few weeks for Kilvington Sport, with our Years 8, 9 and Senior teams competing hard across the first five rounds of the season. We’re proud to report that many of our 31 teams are currently sitting comfortably within the top four on their ladders - an outstanding achievement so far!
A special shoutout goes to our newest Boys AFL fill-in and Senior Team coach - none other than our Principal, Mr Rob French - who stepped in and led the team to a solid win against a depleted Oakleigh side on Wednesday. A true team effort, on and off the field!
Congratulations also go to our Year 7s, who recently wrapped up their first full season of EISM sport. Many of these teams exceeded expectations, and it’s been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and commitment at Thursday afternoon training and on Monday match days. The energy, effort and team spirit they’ve shown each week has been a highlight of the term.
A huge thank you to all our dedicated coaches and umpires - your commitment to our teams is what drives sport at Kilvington. We're incredibly grateful for the time, care and passion you bring each week.
Well done to all our athletes, staff and supporters - enjoy a well-earned rest over the Term 3 break!
