Term 3, Week 6
Welcome back to the Grade 1/2 page!
Next week is Book Week and we will be celebrating with a special Dress-Up Day on Friday 28th August. Students are invited to dress up as a character from their favourite story or book. We will hold a Book Week Parade in the Hub at 9:00am, and families are warmly welcome to stay and watch the parade.
Melbourne Zoo - We are all looking forward to our excursion to the Melbourne Zoo on Monday 31st August. The buses will be leaving from the front of the school at 8:00am sharp, so please arrive at school by 7:45am. We will meet in our classrooms so that we can mark the roll, hand out school hats and prepare students for the exciting day ahead.
Students are to bring a small backpack (this does not need to be their school bag) containing their snacks, lunch and a small drink bottle. Please don't fill the bag too much, as it can become quite heavy when walking around the Zoo. Students who require asthma medication are required to have it with them in their bag.
The bus is expected to arrive back at school at approximately 4:30 pm. We will put a notice on Compass once we are on the road home with a more precise pick up time.
Friday 30th October will be our annual ‘Be Awesome Day’! This year, our awesome kids will be running a ‘Show Day’ as part of our celebrations and we welcome you to join in the fun! To make our day as awesome and fun as possible, we will need lots of help from our wonderful parent community.
We would love donations of some of the following items. (You don’t need to donate to your child’s class necessarily, you’re welcome to donate to any of the classes listed below).
