The Eco Club has had a very busy and successful term 3!
On Thursday June 5th, a group from the Eco Club visited St James Primary School to help support their Prep students plant some new trees. The Prep's were very happy to have the group there mostly because the ground was rock hard and required some real muscle to prepare before planting. Thank you to all the students involved.
We’d also like to say congratulations to Emily M, Charlotte R and Vyomi P for successfully applying for a grant through the Victoria Schools Garden Program. The group won a $500 garden grant which will be put to good use.
In conjunction with this award, the Eco Club also welcomed a member of the Whitehorse Council’s Gardens for Wildlife program to meet with us to organise a replanting of the school garden. This was a great opportunity for students to learn about the Indigenous species of plants which will help to rejuvenate some key areas.
We were also particularly excited to hear that we had been awarded a $500 voucher to spend on plants at a local nursery.
Thank you and congratulations for your work this term.
We’re always looking for new members, particularly from the junior school. If you would like to be involved, please contact Mr Healey or come to our meeting on Thursday at lunch time in E13.
