Bullying No Way Week

Mackellar Primary School is proud to once again participate in Bullying No Way: National Week of Action. This important week brings schools across Australia together to raise awareness of bullying and strengthen our commitment to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive school community.

The theme for 2026 is ‘Small Acts, Big Impact’, highlighting how simple actions such as including others, showing kindness, speaking up and seeking help from a trusted adult can make a huge difference and help stop bullying. Actions don’t need to be big to change someone’s world!

It was wonderful to see so many students dressed in purple today as we launched Bullying No Way Week. Purple represents peace, strength and empowerment, reminding us of the importance of standing up against bullying. Our student leaders did a fantastic job at assembly, explaining the significance of the week and sharing this year’s important message of ‘Small Acts, Big Impact’.

Throughout the week, students will participate in discussions and activities to help them better understand what bullying is, how it can affect others, and what they can do to prevent and respond to it. Students will be encouraged to consider how their everyday actions can help others feel safe, supported and included.

We also encourage families to continue these conversations at home. Talking with your child about recognising bullying, being an upstander and seeking help from a trusted adult can reinforce the important messages being explored at school.
