Grade 4 Science Excursion 

We went to Copperfield College for a science experiment.  We went into the science rooms to do an experiment.  First, we had to put one litre of vinegar into a bottle and secondly, we had to put bicarbonate of soda onto a tissue.  When we went outside, we put the tissue into the bottle.  We had to shake the bottle.  Our bottle did not fly off into the sky.  The science teacher put butane gas into a coke bottle and the coke bottle flew into the sky like a rocket.   Jorden 4A 

We did experiments at Copperfield College. We wore lab coats and safety glasses. There were some helpers and they used a coke bottle with soda inside and they added some Butane gas into the soda bottle. I was tired when we got back to Mackellar but it was a lot of fun.  Anthony 4B

My grade and I went to Copperfield College to use and see their science lab.  We did an experiment and we got to wear lab coats and safety glasses.  The experiment that we did was called ‘Reactive Bottle Rocket.’ When it was my groups turn to try out the experiment we went up in front of everyone and tried our rocket out but our experiment didn’t work.  It was okay because we still had lots of fun and I enjoyed being there.  Sofia 4A 

On Wednesday morning the Grade 4s went to Copperfield College to do science experiments.  First, we put vinegar and baking soda into a bottle.  Then we went outside.  All the groups tried out their experiments.  Our rockets went up high into the sky.  We had a wonderful morning.  Madhvi  4B

The Grade 4’s went to Copperfield College to use their science lab to make exploding rockets.  We wore safety goggles and a white lab coat.  I thought our rocket would shoot into the air, but it did not explode because no one told me to shake the bottle.  Other groups experiment flew high into the air.  Next time I will shake the bottle a lot.

On Wednesday we went to Copperfield College to do some science experiments.  When we were outside, we tried our rocket experiments to see whose rocket will go the highest.  Henry’s group won and it shot out to the volleyball courts.  We used many materials and resources, and we had to wear a lab coat and safety goggles.  Rylen 4B

We did a really fun experiment at Copperfield College where we made a rocket explode up into the air.  First, we had to wear a lab coat and safety glasses. We put white vinegar into a plastic bottle and some bicarb soda into a napkin and folded it to fit into the bottle. We put a cork into the bottle and put it on the soccer pitch.   We saw lots of bottles flying up into the air. When it was our turn, our ingredients were reacting, so I shook the bottle and put it back on the stand, then.... POP!  Our bottle went flying pretty high! It was so cool.  To wrap up the morning, we had a group photo with everyone and went back to school.   Ava 4A

The Grade 4s went to Copperfield College to do science experiments.  We made bottle rockets.  We used baking soda and vinegar to do the experiments. We made a rocket with coke and we used butane gas.  That made the rocket fly up high.  I had fun.  Kamran 4B 

We went to Copperfield College and used the science lab and made a bottle rocket.  We made it with baking soda, white vinegar and tape.  We wore safety glasses and a lab coat and the materials we used were a spoon, some tissues, a bottle stand and scissors.  When we went outside to test our Bottle Rockets we used the bottle stand to turn it upside.  Our group tried to launch the rocket and it just exploded.  We watched another experiment that involved a chemical reaction and some butane gas that was sprayed into the bottle of coke. It was an excellent excursion.  Cayden 4A

On Wednesday we went on an excursion to Copperfield College.  We made bottle rockets using vinegar and baking soda.  We wore lab coats so if we spilt something it wouldn’t go on our shirts. After we were done, we went to the soccer oval.  The rocket that flew the highest was the girls team.  After that we used a dangerous chemical with coke.  After all of that we went back to school.  I had a lot of fun.  I hope we go there again, maybe in a few years time we can go again.  Louis 4B

The science experiment at Copperfield college was great.  We did an explosion on the oval with bottles and they went super high into the sky. We used a funnel, vinegar, cork stopper, baking soda, tissue, and a bottle.  Serene 4A

The Grade 4’s went to Copperfield College and made a bottle rocket.  We used ingredients such as vinegar, baking soda, salt and water. We put the vinegar into the bottle and the baking soda into a tissue and wrapped it up.  Finally, we went outside and put our bottle rockets onto the rocket stand.  When it was our turn, we shook the bottle and placed it onto the rocket stand.  It flew up into the air.  Then we saw the experiment with the coke and the gas. We took a whole group photo and we had to say, ‘science’ and then we went back to school. It was a fun day!  Nina 4B

We went to Copperfield College for a science excursion.  There were student helpers who helped us with the experiments.  We used vinegar and baking soda and they started bubbling when they were added together.  Then we added more bicarb of soda and took our experiment outside for testing.  My group put our bottle experiment on the bottle holder but it didn’t turn out well.  I loved the experiment and I would absolutely go back to Copperfield College. I rate it five stars.  Homie 4A
