Work Experience News

Our first Year 10 Work Experience Week was a great success, with students gaining valuable insights into the world of work and exploring potential career pathways. Thank you to the many local employers who generously supported our students and provided meaningful workplace learning opportunities.
Planning is now underway for our second Year 10 Work Experience Week, which will take place from 14th – 18th September 2026.
Students currently participating in Careers classes will need to have their placements organised by the end of August. With five Careers classes preparing for Work Experience this semester, early preparation will be essential to ensure students have the best opportunity to secure a placement that matches their interests and career goals. Employers are often booked well in advance, so students are encouraged to begin exploring opportunities now.
Genni Smith, Work Experience Coordinator, is available to assist students with finding and organising placements. Students can see Genni on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at lunchtime and can send a direct message to secure a time. Genni will also be attending Careers classes throughout the term to discuss Work Experience requirements and coordinate placement logistics with students and employers.
Students also have the opportunity to undertake Work Experience during the Year 10 Camp Week. Any students wishing to participate in this option will need to have their placement organised by the end of this term. Students interested in this opportunity are encouraged to speak with Genni as soon as possible.
We look forward to supporting our students as they take this important step in exploring future career pathways and gaining valuable workplace experience.
