2026 Specialists

2026 Specialists

Next year we have some changes to our specialist program to account for some staffing changes and also provide more opportunities for our students to participate in niche specialist programs.

Music - lead by Steve and Charlotte

In 2026, all students will get to participate in 1 hour of Music every week! Alongside this increase in music provision, we will also have more opportunities for ensembles and musical performances across our community.

STEM - lead by Lauren and Kelly

Next year, STEM opens out to all students all year. Accompanying this, we will be provisioning more opportunities for extra STEM related programs and experiences such as science projects/competitions and even possibly a Science Fair!

PE - lead by Megan and Curtis

Physical Education will continue for every student next year, with the welcoem return of Megan working alongside Curtis!

Visual Art - lead by Gen D

Visual Art will become a semester subject in 2026, with P-2 participating in Semester 1 and 3-6 participating in Semester 2. To bolster and maintain our artistic fix at CGPS, we will be looking to increase the number of Art and Design Clubs offered at lunchtimes - which will be (at times) supported by external experts.

LOTE (Mandarin) - lead by Shan

Chinese will return to being a semester based subject in 2026. This means that Year 3-6 students will have LOTE in Semester 1 and P-2 students will participate in Semester 2. We are also currently looking into ways we can create more niche programs aligned to Chinese, such as the students heading to China next year engaging in some additional language learning.

Our afterschool extra-curricular programs are also getting a bit of a refresh, with some new programs that will work alongside our existing offerings. Once example of this will be the opportunity for students to engage in Drama and Performance based programs after school. Stay tuned for more information to come on this, or catch me after school one day to chat more.
