Lockdown Drill:

Next Tuesday at 10 am, we will hold a formal Lockdown Drill with our school. Children will hear a broadcast message over all indoor and outdoor speakers informing them that we are in a Lockdown situation, to get inside the nearest classroom, and to get below window height and out of sight.

Our children will have been thoroughly briefed for this practice, so there should be no worries or concerns. This notice will also be posted to our HERO SMS community notices section and to our Facebook page.

We have a comprehensive Lockdown Plan that management will follow. We also have a simple, laminated guide on display in every classroom for teachers to follow. This is posted below for your information.

We will follow this exercise up with a Safe Inside Drill later this term. Safe Inside applies to situations such as a swarm of bees or an unsafe dog on site.

Every term, we conduct a formal Fire Drill and aim to improve our previous best times and efficiency levels.
