Chinese New Year:

Several Chinese families, led by Board of Trustees member Gordon and his wife, Yvonne, prepared a feast of dumplings to celebrate the last day of the Chinese year of the Wood Snake. I understand this day is somewhat equivalent to Christmas Eve in Western culture.

Dumpling feasts and family gatherings are a big part of celebrating the last day of the year in Chinese tradition. The kindness of our Chinese community in putting on this feast for our staff (about 70 of us) was greatly appreciated. They also hand-made vegetarian and gluten-free dumplings for those staff who needed them. They were all delicious, too!

Many of us wore red and gold to celebrate the New Year.
